Lumen & Leaf privacy policy

Lumen & Leaf is a puzzle game for Android phones made by Pinhole Games ("we", "us"). This policy says what happens to information about you when you play the game, buy the full game, write to us or visit our website. In short: the game collects nothing about you. It has no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no account, and your progress stays on your phone.

Who we are

Pinhole Games is a small independent game studio, the developer of Lumen & Leaf on Google Play. Write to us at support@pinholegames.com about anything in this policy.

What the game collects

Nothing. The game does not collect, sell or share any personal information. It has no account to sign in to, and it uses no advertising, analytics, crash reporting, tracking or any other service that could identify you. It never shows ads.

What stays on your phone

The game keeps a small save in its private storage on your phone: which levels you have solved and with how few pieces, the rare flowers you have earned, which greenhouses you have opened, the trophies you have earned, whether you have bought the full game, which tips and tutorials you have seen, and your settings (volume, sound effects, reduced motion, colorblind markers, larger text, the grid, graphics, vibration and language). When you leave the game, it also notes where you were, a level's board included, so it can open there again. None of this leaves your phone: the game does not send it anywhere, and it is excluded from Android's backup to the cloud. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes it.

Purchases

The full game is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google takes the payment under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your card or payment details. To unlock the game, the game asks Google Play on your phone whether your Google account owns it, also after a reinstall or on a new phone.

For our accounts and taxes, Google gives us a report of each sale: its order number, date, price and taxes, the phone's model, and the country it was bought in (sometimes the state, city and postal code too). The report does not include your name or email address. If you write to us about a purchase, for example for a refund, we can look up your order in Google Play's console by its order number or by your Google account's email address. We keep sales records as long as tax law requires.

Permissions

The game asks Android for vibration, for the light ticks you feel as a mirror turns (you can turn them off in the game's settings), and for Google Play's billing, so it can ask Google Play about the purchase. It does not use your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files, and it sends nothing over the internet itself: its purchase check goes through the Google Play app on your phone. The Privacy policy button in its settings opens this page in your web browser.

If you write to us

If you email support@pinholegames.com, we receive your email address, the name your email shows and what you write. We use them only to answer you and to fix what you tell us about, never for marketing, and we never sell or share them. Our email is forwarded by ImprovMX and kept in Gmail (Google), each under its own privacy policy, on servers that may be in the United States or elsewhere. We keep your messages only as long as we need them to help you, and delete them whenever you ask.

Children

The game collects no personal information from anyone, children under 13 included. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before you email us. If we learn that a child under 13 has written to us, we use the message only to reply once, then delete it.

Our website

pinholegames.com sets no cookies, has no analytics, ads or trackers, and loads nothing from other sites. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which logs visitors' IP addresses for security.

Keeping it safe

The game's save sits in its private storage, which other apps cannot read, and purchases pass between your phone and Google Play over encrypted connections. We keep as little about anyone as we can, and we keep our email account secure.

Your choices and rights

Everything the game keeps is on your phone, and you can delete it at any time (above). You can ask us what we hold about you (at most, your emails to us and the sales record of your purchase), to correct it, or to delete it (except sales records we must keep for taxes), by writing to support@pinholegames.com; we answer within 30 days. Where data protection law gives you more rights, such as in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you have those too, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here, with a new effective date, before the change takes effect in the game.
